Tenebrae at Old St. Mary’s
The Ancient Office of Tenebrae will be sung by the Latin Choir at Old St. Mary's Church in Over-the-Rhine. This sung service features readings and hymns. Candles are gradually extinguished until the church is in darkness ("tenebrae" means "shadows"). The solemn service recalls the Passion of Christ.

In March, Pope Francis approved the establishment of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri in Cincinnati, which has been in formation at Old St. Mary's Church in Over-the-Rhine for several years. Bockfest Fish Fry at Old St. Mary’s (Over-the-Rhine)
6th annual fish fry on the night of the Cincinnati Bockfest Parade, an irreverent salute to the city's German and brewing heritage and the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Old St. Mary's, the only church in the country that offers a weekly German Mass, borders the route. Enjoy a sandwich meal before, during, or after the parade (until the food runs out - end time approximate) in the church parking lot, or order to go.
