Mrs. Linda Wolff, fifth-grade teacher at St. Antoninus parish, says her school is sharing her exciting for winning the iPad Mini awarded by the Archdiocesan office of Evangelization and Catechesis Year of Faith Giveaway.

The Giveaway was hosted in conjunction with the A.C.E. Project to help broaden its on-line audience, according to Sean Ater, Assistant Director of Evangelization and Catechesis.

“We are using the web and social media to support our new evangelization efforts by engaging people through our Being Catholic blog, through Twitter, and with our Facebook presence for the Being Catholic blog and for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati,” he said.

The online and social media tools are all being used to enhance the Catholics Come Home Commercial Campaign, and the Parish Book Program, which successfully distributed over 100,000 books throughout the Archdiocese of Cincinnati this Christmas.

“We feel that our on-line presence is as important in our evangelization strategy as our other efforts,” Ater said. “The iPad Mini Giveaway was meant to encourage people to engage and connect with us on-line.”

The Giveaway attracted more than 2,000 entries and increased subscribers on the blog and social media sites and contributed to a rise in on-line engagement – comments on the blog, interaction on Twitter and Facebook.

Ater said: “That is the real pay-off of the Giveaway – a more direct line of communication with people in our efforts in evangelization and the new evangelization.”
