A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of
Cincinnati Terese Sherritt was celebrated Dec. 16 in the Immaculate Conception
Chapel at the congregation’s Delhi Township motherhouse. Sister Terese,
84, died Dec. 12 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
A native of Gallipolis, Ohio, Sister Terese entered the
Sisters of Charity in 1944. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in history
from the College of Mount St. Joseph and a master’s degree in education from
Xavier University.
She ministered as a teacher and principal for 40 years at
schools in Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico and Maryland. In the Archdiocese of
Cincinnati, she served at the former Corpus Christi School in Dayton; the
former St. Teresa School in Springfield; and St. Lawrence School in Cincinnati.
Upon retirement in 1989, Sister Terese continued to serve
in Albuquerque as a hospital supply and copy clerk. She returned to the
motherhouse in 2004 to serve in the ministry of prayer.
Sister Terese is survived by her sister, Ann Costello. Interment was in Sisters of Charity Cemetery.
