A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Mary Teresa Chiou was celebrated Jan. 2 in the motherhouse chapel. Sister Mary Teresa, 97, died Dec. 20 at Mother Margaret Hall. She was a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati for 73 years.

A native of China, Sister Mary Teresa entered the community in 1939. She came to the United States in 1948 to work as an aid at Mother Margaret Hall. In 1964, she began ministering at St. Joseph Infant and Maternity Home (now St. Joseph Home), where she remained for 28 years. She retired to the motherhouse in 1992, serving as a companion to the sick and elderly Sisters.

Interment was in the Sisters of Charity cemetery.
