A Mass for Sister of the Good Shepherd Rita Braun was celebrated March 15 at Good Shepherd Pelletier Hall in Ft. Thomas, Ky. Sister Rita, 87, died March 11.

A native of Philothea, Sister Rita was raised on a farm in St. Marys and attended Holy Rosary School. She entered religious life in 1949. She made her first vows in 1951 and perpetual vows in 1954. Sister Rita’s various ministries included serving as cook, in home care and visiting the elderly. In addition, Sister Rita also served in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Louisville and Cleveland.

Sister Rita is survived by three sisters, Irene Frey of St. Marys; Freida Kuhn of Rockford; and Joan Turnwald of Ft. Jennings. Interment was in St. Stephen Cemetery in Ft. Thomas.
