A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Mary Yvonne Voisard was celebrated Aug. 1 at Salem Heights Chapel in Dayton. Sister Mary Yvonne, 94, died July 29 at Emma Hall in the Maria Joseph Living Care Center in Dayton. She had been a Sister of the Precious Blood for 79 years.

A native of Russia, Ohio, Sister Mary Yvonne entered her congregation in 1933. She enjoyed teaching for 17 years in Cleveland, Egypt and Glandorf, Ohio. At the request of her superiors, she ministered for the next 15 years in formation work. Later she became involved in the study of the retreat movement and ministered at the Maria Stein Retreat House as its director. In addition, she served as pastoral minister at Queen of Martyrs Parish in Dayton.

Sister Mary Yvonne is survived by her sisters, Elfrieda Borchers, and Sister Carmen Voisard. Internment was in the Salem Heights Cemetery.
