A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Mary Heid was celebrated Aug. 6 at the Mount Notre Dame convent chapel. Sister Mary, 82, died on July 30 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center. A native of Dayton, she was a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur for 64 years.

 
Sister Mary taught elementary school for 53 years, 26 of which were at St. Helen School in Dayton. She also taught at Ascension School in Kettering; St. James of the Valley in Wyoming; and Sts. Peter and Paul in Reading.
 
In retirement, Sister Mary served as a part-time tutor for the Alliance for Worked-Based education in Dayton.
 
Sister Mary is survived by her three sisters, Patricia Cichanowicz of Dayton, Rosemary Roberts of Florence, Ky., and Geneva Freeman of Arcanum, Ohio. Interment was in the convent cemetery.
