A Mass of Christian Burial for Ursuline Sister of Cincinnati Mary Anne Tremmel was celebrated at St. Ursula Convent Chapel in East Walnut Hills on June 1. Sister Mary Anne, 84, died May 26. She was a member of the Ursulines of Cincinnati for 67 years.

A native of Cincinnati, Sister Mary Anne taught at the former St. Monica and Holy Name schools, Our Lady of the Visitation, St. Francis de Sales and All Saints. She was also an administrator at St. Ursula Villa and Cardinal Pacelli School. In addition, Sister Mary Anne served as a guidance counselor at St. Ursula Academy and was instrumental in establishing the Institute of Ursuline Spirituality, a spiritual and educational renewal program for Sisters in the United States and Canada. In her later years, she ministered for the Council on Aging.
