A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Mercy Mary Alexis Heil was celebrated May 24 at St. Boniface Church in Northside. Sister Mary Alexis, 92, died May 19. She was a Sister of Mercy for 71 years.

A native of Cincinnati, Sister Mary Alexis taught at St. Teresa, St. Cecilia, Assumption and the former St. Margaret of Cortona schools. She also taught at Mother of Mercy High School, served as novice mistress for her community and ministered at the former Mercy Hospital in Hamilton.

Interment was in St. Joseph (New) Cemetery.
