Sister Marjorie Kramer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Marjorie Kramer was celebrated Nov. 22 at the Mount Notre Dame convent chapel in Cincinnati. Sister Marjorie, 89, died Nov. 18 at the Mount Notre Dame Health Center. She was Sister of Notre Dame for 67 years.
A native of Dayton, Sister Marjorie earned a silver medal in violin as a student at the former Julienne High School and a four-year scholarship to the University of Dayton. During her 18-year teaching career, she served at Mount Note Dame High School in Reading; the former Notre Dame High School in Hamilton; and Julienne High School. After leaving the classroom, Sister Marjorie served as a librarian for the next 47 years at Summit Country Day School and Mount Notre Dame High School and Convent.
In 1978, Sister Marjorie became a licensed radio operator, which enabled her to communicate with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur missionaries and others around the world. In recognition for her efforts, Sister Marjorie was awarded an honorary membership in the Queen City Emergency Network.
Interment was in the community cemetery.
