Sister Karen Vanoli
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Karen Vanoli was held June 29 in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the congregation’s Delhi Township motherhouse. Sister Karen, 94, died June 24 at Mother Margaret Hall.
A Cincinnati native, Sister Karen entered the congregation in 1948, after working as a beautician for many years. She was Sister of Charity for 61, serving in the areas of education and medical assistance.
After serving as a teacher in Denver, she returned to Cincinnati in 1952 to serve as a licensed practical nurse at Mother Margaret Hall, where she spent six years. From 1958 to 1966, Sister Karen worked as an EEG technician at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. She also worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati as a medical records assistant for 10 years. She moved to the congregation’s motherhouse in 1991.
Interment was in the Sisters of Charity cemetery.
