Sister Dolores Stephans

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Dolores Stephans was celebrated June 3 at Mount Notre Dame Convent chapel. Sister Dolores, 79, died May 30 at the Mount Notre Dame Health Center. She was a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur for 62 years.
A native of Dayton, Sister Dolores was a classroom teacher for more than 20 years. In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, she taught at Our Lady of the Rosary School in Dayton, and Cardinal Pacelli and Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati. Sister Dolores spent her summers in Phoenix teaching in parish CCD programs.
After she left the classroom, Sister Dolores began a second ministry and spent the next 31 years serving the Sisters in her community as a food service manager at Notre Dame convents in Columbus and Chicago.
She is survived by her brother, Frederick. Interment was in the congregation’s cemetery.
