Sister Ann Regina Raterman
A Mass of Christian Burial for Franciscan Sister of the Poor Ann Regina Raterman (nee Margaret Mary) was celebrated Dec. 15 in St. Clare Convent Chapel in Cincinnati. Sister Ann Regina, 77, died on Dec. 11.
During her 58 years as a Franciscan Sister of the Poor, she served the poor in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton; Jamaica, N.Y.; Quincy, Ill; Kansas City, Kan; Jersey City, N.J.; and Rome, Italy. She ministered to homeless women and children at Maryhouse in New York City, a Catholic Worker house founded by Dorothy Day, who resided there and for whom Sister Ann Regina cared.
Sister Ann Regina is survived by her sister, Ruth Westerfield. Interment was in the convent cemetery.
