The Principal Search Committee and the Board of Trustees are excited to announce that Ms. Kristen Rojas, Ursuline Academy alumna (Class of 1985), will join us as our next Principal.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Rojas back home to Ursuline,” said President Ramona Payne. “As an alumna, Ms. Rojas fully understands, is committed to, and exemplifies the Mission of our school: in the Catholic tradition of Ursuline education, to prepare the young woman for college and beyond by nurturing her soul, intellect, heart, and imagination. As a skilled and experienced administrator and educator, Ms. Rojas demonstrates strong leadership skills and understands the needs and challenges faced by high school students, especially those who are high achieving.”

Ms. Rojas comes to UA with an impressive career in education, spanning over 30 years. She joins us from Princeton City School District, where she most recently held the position of Principal of the Princeton Innovation Center. Ms. Rojas’ leadership experience in academic institutions is extensive and student-focused, as she has held positions as both a high school and elementary school principal. She brings to UA a unique skill set, including significant experience related to curriculum design, teacher evaluation, and development. Ms. Rojas has a specialty focus in gifted education and has served as a Gifted Education Coordinator and Counselor for over 15 school districts throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Board of Trustee member Kelly Dehan, ’79, Co-Chair of the Principal Search Committee said, “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are confident in Ms. Rojas’ ability to effectuate our goals of a clear, lived Mission and to preserve the legacy of the Ursulines of Brown County. Ms. Rojas’ unique experience and skill set makes her a perfect fit to lead our Ursuline faculty, staff, and students as we embark on our next 126 years.”

Keenly aware of the value of an Ursuline education, Ms. Rojas notes that she is “thrilled to be part of continuing our strong legacy, fueling the long-lasting impact that our empowered graduates make within their communities, families, and professions. In the vision of St. Angela Merici, I have witnessed resilience, leadership, innovation, and service from the incredible women that pass through these halls. I cannot wait to come home to Ursuline and immerse myself back in our wonderful community!”

Ms. Rojas’ onboarding is already underway, and she will be in position at UA fulltime as of July 1, 2023. Please join us as we give Kristen Rojas a warm Lion welcome back to Ursuline as our next Principal.
