ARCHDIOCESE — The annual Red Mass will be celebrated by Covington Bishop Roger J. Foys on Friday, Sept. 17, 4 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington.  Chief Justice John D. Minton, Jr., of the Kentucky Supreme Court will deliver a special address after the Mass. A reception will follow.

The celebration is open to all members of the legal profession, public servants and officials, judiciary, their respective families and the general public. People of all faiths are encouraged to attend.

Each year in cities around the world, lawyers, judges and lawmakers come together to pray for God’s grace and wisdom to assist them in carrying out faithfully their professional duties. The service is known as the Red Mass.

This year will be the 12th year that there has been a Red Mass in the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky area. The Red Mass alternates each year between Covington and Cincinnati.
