Purcell Marian High School is now an International Baccalaureate World School. IB is recognized across the world for its innovative approach to education, placing an equal focus on academics and other transferable skills, in order to best prepare students for success beyond high school. There are 1,838 IB World schools in the U.S., and graduation rates at top colleges are an average of 24% higher for those who participated in IB during high school.

Principal Andy Farfsing says, “IB offers our students a more holistic education which instills in them the skills, knowledge, and outlook to succeed in the 21st century, both in their local community and in the wider world.”

The first full cohort will commence their studies for the IB Diploma in the 2020-21 school year. The Diploma Program is for Juniors and Seniors and consists of nine (9) college-level classes.

Students may be enrolled in one or more IB classes and not in the full diploma program, as part of PM’s IB for All philosophy.
