Precious Blood Sisters celebrate anniversary Nov. 15

ST. MARGARET MARY DEANERY — The 175th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Cincinnati will be celebrated Sunday, Nov. 15, with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 2 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1830 W. Galbraith Rd. in Cincinnati. A reception in the parish’s Madonna Hall will follow.
The event is an opportunity to connect with former teachers, classmates, and Sisters who served in and/or are from the area. The Sisters began ministry in the Cincinnati area in 1892 at St. Rose Parish. The Sisters served at St. Mark School, at St. Margaret Mary, at St. Rose, at the former Regina High School, which they founded and staffed; at St. John, Deer Park; Sts. Peter and Paul School, St. Gregory and Mount St. Mary seminaries, the cathedral, the archdiocesan chancery and the archbishop’s residence. Today they continue to work in a variety of ministries, including archdiocesan service and outreach to the sick, poor and marginalized.
