Out and About for August 2024
1) Kettering Welcomes Priests
The Kettering Catholic Community (NE-5) welcomed newly-appointed pastor Father Tom Nevels and newly- ordained parochial vicar Father Anthony Sanitato (pictured with fifth graders) to their 29th annual Bible Camp from June 17-21. Over 378 campers, teens and adults participated in our week-long camp!
2) McNick Students in Japan
Art & Architecture Rockets at McNicholas High School in Cincinnati had a brilliant time on their study abroad adventure in Japan! This unique experience gives students the opportunity to learn globally and explore cultures and landscapes around the world, while also making memories that will last them a lifetime!
3) SUA Students Serve the Community
Saint Ursula Academy (Cincinnati) students volunteer across the city and throughout the year for many organizations. This year, students regularly served at 12 local agencies and totaled over 2,000 service hours to organizations around the tri-state. The Ronald McDonald House is one of many organizations that benefits from SUA students’ willingness to serve in the community.
4) New Joseph House for Veterans
On June 7, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati community gathered for the dedication of Joseph House’s new facility for veterans. Joseph House, co- founded by the late Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Kateri Maureen Koverman, is the region’s only exclusive treatment and recovery service for veterans. The new facility is specially designed to offer military veterans residential and outpatient services.
