Ordination 2022: Meet Chibueze Asiegbulem
My name is Deacon Chibueze, born and raised in Nigeria, in a family of four boys and one girl. I am the fifth child and the fifth son of my parents. I migrated to the United States in May 8th, 2016. I was a student of University of Dayton before I started discernment with Archdiocese of Cincinnati. I am the only one among my siblings outside the shores of my country. My home parish is; Immaculate Conception Dayton.
My call to the scared ministry started when I was tender as an altar server. As a result of early vocation, my parents supported me and I was offered admission at Maria Mater Ecclesiea Seminary which was similar to high school at the age of 12.
Some of the rectors I have met in Nigeria have been my mentors a long the journey to the sacred priesthood. Rev. Fr. Dr. Anselm Anukam of blessed memory was a good mentor to me.
I look forward to celebrating the Eucharist with the people of God and making myself readily available as God’s instrument for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the confessional.
My favorite devotion is to our Lady of Perpetual Help.
I like to watch and play soccer.
