Obituary: Sister Mary Doeker, OSU.
Cincinnati – Doeker, Sister Mary. Mary Doeker died peacefully at Mt. Notre Dame Health Center on March 5, 2022, at age 93. Beloved member of the Ursulines of Brown County for 76 years. Sister Mary was preceded in death by her parents Angela Mongan Doeker and Eugene Doeker, her sisters Elizabeth Oberschmidt, and Angela Doeker and her brother Eugene Doeker. She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sr. Mary began her educational ministry at The School of the Brown County Ursulines, teaching lower grades, two years at Ursuline Academy, fourteen years at St. Vivian’s, four years at St. Louis in Owensville. She moved to Springfield, Ohio and worked for seven years at St. Joseph’s Parish, where she served as Pastoral Minister and Director of Religious Education. Sr. Mary returned to Cincinnati and served the next sixteen years at St. Gabriel’s parish in collaboration with Maple Knoll Village as Pastoral Associate. Visitation will be at Mount Notre Dame Health Center 966 E. Columbia Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215 at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022. The Mass of Resurrection will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Notre Dame Chapel. Burial will be in the Ursulines of Brown County Cemetery.
