Sister Dorothy Beach, SNDdeN (Formerly Francis Mary)

July 25, 1921 – October 12, 2021

Upon graduating from Trinity College, and coming from a military family, Sister Dorothy enlisted in the female section of the U.S. Naval Reserve known as WAVES in 1943 to help the war effort. When the war ended, she entered with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and taught high school for two years. Beginning in 1950, Sister Dorothy spent the next 35 years at the Trinity College Library where she became head librarian in 1972. In 1985, Sister Dorothy went to Rome as librarian for the North American College Graduate Department where U.S. diocesan priests studied for advanced degrees.
