Deacon Raymond W. George, a Deacon of the Archdiocese, died on Thursday, October 14, 2021. He was 87 years old.

Deacon Ray was ordained June 25, 1983 for the Diocese of Charleston, S.C. He and his wife moved to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in September, 1987 and was assigned to St. Matthias the Apostle Parish, Forest Park. He served the Church as a permanent deacon for thirty-eight years.

Deacon Ray leaves his wife, Beverly, to whom he was married for 63 years. He also leaves their son, Michael, and his family.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1050 W. Kemper Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45240. Visitation will take place before the funeral Mass from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in Lonsway Hall at the church. The deacon community is invited to attend and vest for the Mass.
