Sister Mary Buckley, SNDdeN
Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Mary Buckley, died July 17, 2019, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 93. A native of Chicago, Ill., she was in her 76th year of religious life.
Sister Mary taught for 43 years at Mt. Notre Dame Academy/High School, Cardinal Pacelli School and Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati; and Notre Dame High School in Hamilton.
Sister Mary also taught at an educational program maintained by the Cook County Jail and in the ESL Adult Education program at Wright College in Chicago.
Sister Mary Kathryn McFerrin, SC
Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Mary Kathryn McFerrin died July 29, 2019, at the age of 90 in Mother Margaret Hall. Sister Mary Kathryn was born on Dec. 30, 1928, to Charles E. and Florentine McFerrin in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was a Sister of Charity for 71 years.
Sister Mary Kathryn grew up in Chillicothe, attending St. Mary grade school and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1947, being taught by the Sisters of Charity, grades one through 12.
In the Sister of Charity Community Sister Mary Kathryn is well known for her beautiful mandalas, creations she drew while meditating on Scripture verses.
Sister Mary Kathryn’s Mass of Christian Burial took place on August 7, in the Motherhouse Chapel of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. Burial is in the Sisters of Charity cemetery.
Sister Patricia McNally, SC
Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Patricia McNally died Aug. 2, 2019, at the age of 93 in Mother Margaret Hall. Sister Patricia was born on Oct. 25, 1925, to John and Elizabeth McNally in Springfield, Ohio. She was a Sister of Charity for 76 years.
Sister Pat grew up in Springfield, Ohio; she attended St. Raphael grade school and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1943 where she was taught by the Sisters of Charity.
Sisters and family received visitors in the Heritage Room of the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity on Tuesday, Aug. 13, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at the Motherhouse chapel.
Burial is in the Sisters of Charity cemetery.
Sister Mary Milano, SNDdeN
Sister Mary Milano, a Sister of Notre Dame, went home to our good God on Sunday, July 21, at the age of 87. Sister Mary was just a few days shy of celebrating her 70th year entering in as a Sister of Notre Dame.
Sister Mary was loved by so many. We ask that you please pray for our sisters, her family and all those who have been deeply touched by Sister Mary Milano.
Father Richard Nieberding, C.PP.S.
Father Richard Nieberding, C.PP.S., died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in the rectory of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Montezuma, Ohio, where he was the pastor. He was 66.
He was born on January 19, 1953, in Dayton, to Edward and Mary Nieberding. He attended Precious Blood School then entered Brunnerdale, the minor seminary of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, in Canton, Ohio, in 1967. Ordained on June 28, 1980, Fr. Nieberding was a graduate of Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Ind., and the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, on Friday, July 26, with Father Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., vice provincial director, presiding.
