New book highlights history of Julienne High School

ARCHDIOCESE — A 64-page page book, Our Dear Old Julienne, from Notre Dame Academy to Chaminade-Julienne and Beyond, is set to be published in December.
The coffee-table book will feature some 90 photos and illustrations, including four double-page photo spreads. The contemporary photos are primarily by James H. De Young. The text is by Gail Horvath, a 1957 graduate of Julienne and a teacher there from 1966-73. There are numerous quotes from graduates, teachers and fans.
The book primarily focuses on Julienne High School from 1927-73, however it also briefly covers these related schools: Notre Dame Academy on Franklin Street; Corpus Christi; Dayton Christian Schools’ Homewood Campus; Stivers School of the Arts Homewood Campus; St. Joseph’s Catholic Commercial School; Chaminade Catholic Boys’ School; and Chaminade Julienne.
The publisher is Allan L. Horvath Publications, a firm named after the author’s deceased older brother, a Chaminade graduate, class of 1943.
