Mother Margaret George Society inducts new members
October 5, 2011
ST. LAWRENCE DEANERY — Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Joan Elizabeth Cook, president, welcomed Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr to the congregation’s Delhi Township motherhouse for Bayley’s Mother Margaret George Honor and Memorial Society celebration Sept. 15.
The society was founded by Tom and Dorothy Westerfield in 2004 to thank Baley Place, a non-profit ministry of the Sisters of Charity, for the outstanding care provided to Dorothy Westerfield’s mother, Catherine Jacobs. It offers a unique way to honor living or deceased loved ones and enures others benefit from that same quality of care. The society has raised approximately $225,000,00 to date, according to Alice Rogers Uhl, Bayley’s vice president of development and marketing.
Prior to Mass, celebrated by the archbishop, Musica Sacra, a participant in the 2012 World Choir Competition, performed. The new society members were recognized before the closing of the liturgy, which was followed by a reception.
