A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Acito was celebrated March 28 at Holy Family Church in Price Hill. Acito, 66, died March 24 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.

A native of Cincinnati’s west side, Acito graduated from Elder High School in 1963 and returned to the school as a teacher in 1968. He taught English at Elder for nearly 30 years and had been the school’s alumni director for the past 16 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English in 1968 and a master’s degree in education in 1976, both from Xavier University.

Acito is survived by his wife, Fran; a son, Tony; and daughters, Gina Fieler and Anne Acito, all of Cincinnati.

Interment was in St. Joseph New Cemetery.
