CATHEDRAL DEANERY — A concert to honor Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk will be presented by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra music director Paavo Jarvi and CSO members on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. in Saint Peter in Chains Cathedral, Cincinnati. The concert is part of the cathedral’s Great Music in a Great Space Concert series.
The concert is free and open to public through the generosity of corporate sponsorship to honor Archbishop Pilarczyk’s many years of service to the community and his great love of the classical arts.
The concert will feature the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the archbishop’s favorite composers, and Arvo Pärt.
The program includes: Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major; his Keyboard Concerto No. 4 in A Major, and Arvo Pärt’s Wenn Bach Bienen gezüchetet hätte (“If Bach had Raised Bees”).
