ST. FRANCIS DE SALES DEANERY — The Athenaeum of Ohio’s George C. Findley Memorial Lecture, “Marriage in Minority Communities: The Contribution of the Catholic Church.” will be presented by Helen M. Alvaré on Wednesday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m., in the Bartlett Pastoral Center on the Athenaeum  campus, 6616 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati.

Alvaré is associate professor of law at George Mason University School of Law, where she teaches family and property law. She received her doctorate in law from Cornell University in 1984. She subsequently earned a master’s degree in theology from Catholic University of America. From 1990 to 2000 she was director of planning and information for the Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. She is the author of numerous articles.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
