ARCHDIOCESE — Father Raymond G. Wiemeyer, a priest of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for 57 years, died Oct. 14 at Hillebrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cincinnati.  He was 82.

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated Oct. 23 at St. Teresa of Avila Church, with Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk presiding. Interment will be at Old St. Joseph Cemetery.

A native of Cincinnati, he studied at St. Gregory Seminary and  Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West in Norwood. He was ordained on May 31, 1952 at St. Monica Cathedral in Cincinnati by Archbishop Karl J. Alter.

Father Wiemeyer served as assistant pastor at St. Elizabeth Parish in Norwood; St. Edward-St. Ann Parish, St. Ann Parish, St. James of the Valley and St. James the Greater in Cincinnati; and at Sacred Heart Parish and Holy Family Parish in Dayton. In 1972 he was name co-administrator of Holy Family, Our Lady of Grace and Blessed Sacrament parishes in Cincinnati.

Father Wiemeyer served as pastor of St. Matthias Parish and St. Aloysius on-the-Ohio Parish, both in Cincinnati.

During his years of ministry, Father Wiemeyer also taught at the former De Porres High School and at Purcell High School in Cincinnati.

In 1957 he was appointed chaplain of the Safety Department in Dayton and for 23 years was an active member of the Police/Clergy team of the Hamilton County Police Association.

Father Wiemeyer retired in 1993.
