Father David J. Kelley, 60, died June 6 of lung cancer.

A Cincinnati native, he was ordained in 1974 following studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary.

He was a faculty member at Elder High School and associate pastor of St. Teresa Parish following ordination. He also served as associate pastor of Resurrection, St. Therese the Little Flower and Our Lady of Victory parishes, all in Cincinnati, and at St. Christopher Parish in Vandalia.

He participated in the clinical pastoral education program at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton while residing at Holy Trinity Parish in Middletown and Corpus Christi Parish in Dayton from 1987-1988. From 1989-2002 he was chaplain at Mercy Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati.

In 2003, he was removed from ministry because of allegations of child abuse.

Funeral services have been held.
