As part of its Aug. 8-12 Sacred Music Retreat, The Oratory of St. Philip Neri in Cincinnati and its parishes ( Sacred Heart in Camp Washington and Old St. Mary’s in Over the Rhine) will host sung Matins and Lauds of the Dead before a 10 a.m. Pontifical Requiem Mass in the Extraordinary Form. Bothe are open to all. A Pontifical Mass is celebrated by a bishop and is the most formal of Latin Masses except for those celebrated by the pope; this one will be celebrated by a visiting bishop at the retreat and sung by the retreatants, many of whom participate in Latin Mass choirs. Come for either or both.

A second Pontifical Latin Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Camp Washington on Sunday.
