ENJOY A GAME AND HELP FEED STRUGGLING FAMILIES
Join St. Vincent de Paul, the Cincinnati Reds, WLWT, and 700 WLW in Striking Out Hunger this summer at Great American Ball Park!
St. Vincent de Paul will be on-site at Great American Ball Park before the Cincinnati Reds games on Friday, July 21st and Saturday, July 22nd collecting non-perishable food items. Fans who bring at least three items will receive a ticket to a future Reds game.
COLLECTION SITES: Volunteers will be located near the ballpark’s main entrance on Crosley Terrace, as well as along Joe Nuxhall Way near the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum to accept donations.
All food collected will be distributed through our Becky & Ted Catino Choice Food Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul’s network of 13 neighborhood food pantries around the city. This collection is essential as summer is a critical time for neighbors who are struggling. When schools are out, many families must find ways to feed their children, who might otherwise receive free or reduced breakfasts or lunches at school. Reds fans typically donate more than three tons of food, or enough to provide 5,300 meals to struggling families.
Thank you, Reds fans, for your ongoing support and generosity!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Volunteers are needed to help collect the food and distribute tickets, with shifts available on Friday and Saturday. After the shift, volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket to stay for the game, as well as a voucher for a future game. If you are interested in helping, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] with which day you’re interested in working and your t-shirt size.
