A Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Jerry Schneider was celebrated March 3 at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish in Bridgetown. Deacon Schneider, 71, died Feb. 29.

Deacon Schneider was ordained to the diaconate in 1983 by retired Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk.  He served at St. Martin of Tours Parish in Cheviot from his ordination until 1991, and at St. Aloysius Parish from 1991 to the present.

He survived by his wife, Marilyn, and sons, Jason and Christopher. Interment was in the church cemetery.
