A Mass of Christian Burial for Glenmary Brother Bernie Stern was celebrated Jan. 9 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Greenhills. Brother Bernie, 76, died Jan 5 at St. Margaret Hall in Cincinnati. He served as a Glenmary Home Missioner for 52 years.

A native of Dayton, Ky., Brother Bernie ministered at missions in North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and Kentucky. He also spent 12 years as Glenmary’s chef, first at the novitiate house in Indiana, and during two longer stints at the Cincinnati residence.

Brother Bernie is survived by his sister, Mary Anne Stern, and his brother, Andrew. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
