Annual Mass honors religious jubilarians
October 24, 2011
ARCHDIOCESE — Sisters, brothers and priests from religious communities throughout the archdiocese who are celebrating jubilees in 2011 came together for an annual Mass in their honor at Mount Notre Dame in Cincinnati Oct. 15.
The Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr, recognizes the faith of the women and men religious who have dedicated their lives to serving God and God’s people for 25, 50, 60 and 75 years. During the liturgy, the jubilarians renewed their commitment to their baptismal call and the archbishop presented scrolls to representatives of each jubilee group in gratitude for their service.
“Archbishop Schnurr gladly puts this date on his calendar every year,” said Sister of Notre Dame de Numur Marilyn Kerber, director of the archdiocesan Office of Religious.
“It is an opportunity for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to say ‘thank you’ to the women and men religious of the archdiocese for their many years of service.” n
