Adult Spirituality Institute announces fall/winter schedule

ST. FRANCIS DE SALES — The Adult Spirituality Institute has announced its 2011-12 course offerings. The institute offers short term, non–credit courses and seminars in conjunction with, and held at, the Athenaeum of Ohio. Its mission is to foster ongoing spiritual development by providing courses and events centered on Scripture and theology and presented by Athenaeum and regional scholars.
Father Timothy Schehr, a professor of biblical studies at the Athenaeum, will present “Lessons from the Desert,” Mondays, Sept. 12-Oct. 3, 10 a.m.- noon. Gillian Ahlgren, a professor of theology and Christian spirituality at Xavier University, will present “From Consumption to Consummation,” Mondays, Oct. 31-Nov. 21, 10 a.m.- noon.
During the winter/spring 2012 session, the institute will offer “The Greatest Song,” with Father Schehr, Mondays, Jan. 9- Jan. 30, 10 a.m.-noon; “There is Nothing Like a Jesuit,” with Jesuit Father Theodore Ross, Thursdays, March 1-March 22, 7-9 p.m.; and “The Fascinating Story of David,” with Msgr. Kenneth G. Morman, Thursdays, April 19-May 10, 7-9 p.m.
