Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur select new director of mission integration
[Cincinnati OH] – Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Reading, Ohio, have selected Donna Groene to serve as director of mission integration for the congregation’s Ohio Province. Groene previously worked for 35 years at Mount Notre Dame High School, which is owned by the Sisters. Her most recent role was director of enrollment and strategic communications.
In her new position, Groene will play a key role in articulating and perpetuating the mission, charism and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. She will work closely with sponsored and affiliated schools as well as the Mount Notre Dame Health Center to support and grow their commitment to the Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community. The seven Hallmarks were developed to ensure these institutions had a guideline for aligning key decisions with the values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
“Donna has a depth of experience, expertise and spirituality that will allow her to confidently lead our schools in mission integration,” says Sister Donna Jurick of the Ohio province leadership team. “Her ability to genuinely connect and build relationships with administrators, teachers and students is an asset in this work.”
Groene says she stands behind the Sisters and their dedication to teaching children what they need to know for life.
“I am particularly drawn to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur – to their commitment to education, social justice, the empowerment of the poor, all within a multi-cultural, global vision,” she says. “These are values that deeply resonate with my own professional and personal journey. This role offers an incredible opportunity for me to continue my career supporting the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.”
Groene’s education includes bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of Mount St. Joseph
where she studied theology, religious education, pastoral care and counseling, English and secondary education. She takes over the role from Meg Sharp, who retired from Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in January 2025 after a 30-year career.
