Sister Anne Agnew
A Mass of Christian Burial for Precious Blood Sister Anne Agnew was celebrated at Salem Heights Chapel on June 12. Sister Anne, 84, died June 9 at Maria-Joseph Center in Dayton. She was a Sister of the Precious Blood for 72 years.
A native of Dayton, Sister Anne entered her congregation on Sept. 1, 1946. In the archdiocese, she served at high schools in Cincinnati, Celina and Wapakoneta, teaching English and history. She later became involved in pastoral ministry and social justice work and ministered at homeless shelters in Dayton and Chicago.
Sister Anne is survived by her sister, Precious Blood Sister Barbara Agnew. Interment was in Salem Heights Cemetery.
