Sister Irene Holz CPPS. Holz, Sister Irene, 92, died peacefully on April 6 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born March 1928 in Cleveland, OH, and entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Dayton, OH, February 14, 1957. She faithfully served God’s people for 63 yrs. in Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri and throughout Ohio. Private services will be held at the Salem Heights chapel, Dayton, OH, Wednesday, April 8, 2020.
Sister Irene grew up in Cleveland in the company of her parents and 2 older brothers. Before entering the convent, she attended Case Western Reserve and John Carroll universities in Cleveland. As a Sister, she received a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in theology at the University of Dayton. Education in schools and religious education in parishes filled the majority of her years in ministry.
Sister Irene joins her parents, Joseph and Matylda, and brothers, Gilbert and Theodore, in heaven. She is survived by her Precious Blood Community of Sisters, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Online memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerhazelsnider.com.
