Mercy Health Partners breaks ground on new Mercy Hospital West

ST. MARGARET MARY DEANERY — Construction began Oct. 21 on a new hospital for Cincinnati’s West Side. Mercy Health Partners broke ground at a ceremony to celebrate the new Mercy Hospital West.

According to Mercy Health Partners CEO James May, “We’re building Mercy Hospital West to bring new medical services to the West Side in a location that’s easy to get to in an emergency.”
The new 550,000-square foot hospital will have 250 patient beds and is scheduled to open in 2013.
Mercy Health Partners is a not-for-profit organization that donates nearly $60 million in charitable healthcare services each year. Last year, Mercy Health Partners donated free care to approximately 245,000 people in Greater Cincinnati.
Mercy Health Partners intends to introduce new medical capabilities the facility, including comprehensive heart care with open heart surgery, a cancer center, an orthopaedics center, a women’s health center, neurology services and OB/maternity care.
