Capuchin Father GianMaria DiGiorgio knew Padre Pio as a grandfatherly figure eat the Capuchin Friary in SanGiovanni Rotondo in Foggia, Italy. He was Economic Provincial for the Friary of Padre Pio, where he was instrumental in correcting the New Church of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, and helped direct many charitable efforts in Foggia. Currently Coordinator of Charitable Works for the friary, he helps spread the word of St. Pio to the English-speaking world.
