The major relics of St. Maria Goretti are on a “Pilgrimage of Mercy” to the United States, an effort on the part of the Holy See to prepare and catechize the U.S. for the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy that begins Dec. 8. The relics will stop near Cincinnati at Columbus, OH, and Westfield, IN, next week only. St. Maria Goretti is unique in that she is the youngest canonized saint in the Church.  She died tragically on July 6, 1902, at the age of eleven.

On Wednesday October 21st, St. Joseph Cathedral at 212 E. Broad St., Columbus Ohio will host the major relics of St. Maria Goretti. Public veneration begins at 11:00 a.m.; Solemn Mass celebrated in St. Maria’s honor will be at 7:00 p.m.; with Public veneration ending at 11:00 p.m.. On Tuesday October 20th, St. Maria Goretti Church, at 17102 Spring Mill Rd, Westfield, Indiana (just north of Indianapolis) will the major relics of St. Maria Goretti. Public veneration begins at 11:00 a.m.; Solemn Mass celebrated in St. Maria’s honor will be at 7:00 p.m.; with Public veneration ending at 10:00 p.m..
