Jared Douglas, 12, a seventh grader at St. Bernard School in Taylor Creek, died April 3 when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding flipped over at Haspin Acres Off-Road & Motorcross Park in Franklin County, Ind. He was wearing a helmet and other protective gear. The accident is currently under investigation by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Law Enforcement.

 
Douglas was known around St. Bernard for his love of sports, country music and ability to make people laugh.
 
Students from St. Bernard were on spring break at the time of the accident and counselors were on hand when they returned to school.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial for Douglas was held at St. Bernard Church on April 9. He is survived by his parents, Rose Kelley and Michael Douglas, and siblings, Kiersten Kelley and Jimmy and Kayla Douglas.
