Sister Shirley Marie Dietrich

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of Charity Shirley Marie Dietrich was celebrated on July 10 in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. Sister Shirley died on July 6 at Mother Margaret Hall. She was 79 years old.
A native of Northside and graduate of the former Our Lady of Mercy High School, Sister Shirley was a member of the Sisters of Charity for 49 years. Sister Shirley served in the finance department and was a bookkeeper in the Cincinnati and Denver archdioceses and the Diocese of Colorado Springs.
In Denver Sister Shirley was a bookkeeper at the Margery Reed Day Nursery in 1961, and at Central Catholic High School during the early 1970s. In 1975 she became the business manager of El Pomar Renewal Center in Colorado Springs. Ten years later she became a bookkeeper at Julie Penrose Center in Colorado Springs. She returned to the Sisters of Charity motherhouse in 1990 to assist with their financial budgeting system.
Sister Shirley is survived by her sister, Dorothy Trachsel, and her brother, Fred Dietrich.
Interment was in the motherhouse cemetery.
