A Mass of Christian Burial for Dominican Sister Marcella LaKoske was celebrated June 23 in the St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She died June 19 at the age of 91.

Sister Marcella was known as Sister Ann Valerie LaKoske. She was a member of the Adrian Dominican congregation for nearly 66 years. A native of Detroit, she was earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master;s degree in education from Siena Heights College in Adrian, Mich.

Sister Marcella spent 35 years ministering in education throughout Michigan, Florida and Ohio. In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, she was a staff member for two years at St. Theresa Home in 1974 and a teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer School in Cincinnati in 1976.

She is survived by her sisters, Rita Candela of Lathrup Village, Mich., and Eugenia Obrecht of Romeo, Mich.

Interment was at the Dominican congregation cemetery.
