A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister of St. Francis Jonette Scheidler was celebrated March 10 at the motherhouse chapel in Oldenburg, Ind. Sister Jonette, 97, died March 6. She entered the Oldenburg Franciscan community in 1946 and made her final vows in 1952.

A native of Millhousen, Ind., Sister Jonette, was an elementary school teacher for 47 years. In the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, she taught at Sacred Hert School in Fairfield. She also served at many schools in Indiana.

Sister Jonette is survived by her sister, Sister Janice Scheidler, and her brother Anthony. Interment was in the motherhouse cemetery.
